An amazing story is brewing in Peel Region just west of Toronto, but don’t expect the Media Party to tell you about it.
This month, many schools in Canada will be raising the rainbow flag to celebrate the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, except maybe Peel schools.
The Globe and Mail reports there have been “concerns” voiced about raising the flag, without mentioning who’s raising those concerns.
But, based on some stories we did on controversies at the Peel Region School Board stirred by their embrace of sharia and the accommodation of gender-apartheid mosques, I’m going to go out on a limb and speculate.
Concerns expressed by some about Muslim prayer in schools were dismissed as the rantings of racists, bigots and Islamophobes, while concerns expressed by others about the LGBTQ community were taken seriously?
